Top knot travels- ha isn’t that hilarious! Since I always have my hair up in a bun (or top knot as D calls it), I thought this would be a good name for my travel posts.
This summer has been chalk-full of adventures and I’m not mad about it. It had been quite awhile since I had taken a trip on my own. There is something cleansing about traveling on your own. You are left with your own thoughts for an extended amount of time. It helps center me. It’s a restart. This trip in particular was hard because there was no cell service- (tough life I know!) but it made me feel much more “off the grid.”
I had often heard tails of this amazing stretch of road in central Oregon. The Mckenzie River and the highway that winds and bends with it. Let me tell you, this is amazing country. It’s sleepy, it’s humble, and yet stunning. There were surprises and breath taking views every where I seemed to end up. If you haven’t gone exploring in this area of Oregon, it’s SO worth it. I also found myself and quaint little cabin right along the river. It was damn near perfection.
Looking through these pictures again made me miss that unassuming wonder of Oregon. Enjoy, I sure did.
Adventure on!
Love,
Rachel xo

That is so gorgeous. I love the idea of going out on a little trip by yourself, especially without smartphones and computers that take over. Can I go now?!

Your pictures and adventures continue to excite me! Mamba is an excellent choice of Gilgamesh beer. Have you tried their Vader?
