Let’s chat about pies.
I recently stopped in to try Pacific Pie Co. I had been to their eastside location about a year ago, thinking it was just a bakery. I quickly realized I was mistaken. This is a meat pie joint. I studied abroad in the UK and know a thing or two about meat pies. I also know they are one of the ultimate comfort foods. Mix that with the amazing local resources of the Pacific Northwest- and you have Pacific Pie Co.
It was started by owners Sarah and her Husband, native Aussie, Chris. Meat pies are also a comfort food down under, and when they moved they realized it was something they missed from home. So they started making pies and we are lucky they did.
They just opened a NW Portland location so I strolled down on my lunch break. The place is SO cute. Everything is very comforting and a place you want to be. I loved the decor, made me feel like home.
How cute is this?! Loving the feel of the place.
So I sat down and started to look over the menu- Sarah (owner) was there that day and advised me towards some of the new options on the menu.
I went with: Steak and Cheese Pie – Carman Ranch grass fed beef in a savory onion gravy with Tillamook Cheddar. (twist my arm) and the Spinach Strawberry Rhubarb Salad.
It was AMAZING. The salad was exceptionally great. SO fresh. The pie, ohhhh man the pie. So delicious. Such a great flakey crust. As I said, I’m a meat pie fan- so I was a happy camper.
They also have a dessert and cocktail menu, although I had to restrain at the time- check this out.
Can you read that?!?! It says PIE SHAKES. I need one- who is coming with me?
They of course, also have sweet pies. Which are also amazing. I had the strawberry white chocolate creation! Seriously, its good. You need to try this place.
Let me know if you stop in! And what you order. It’s all so amazing flavorful.
