Hiii friends! If you follow me on Instagram, you should be, (shameless Instagram plug) but you also noticed D and I took a trip to Maui last week. Hawaii holds a special place for both of us because we got married in Kauai. It seemed fitting to head back to Hawaii for our first anniversary. Don’t worry! A full Maui travel guide will be coming your way next week- yay.
For now, I want to tell you all about where we stayed- The Fairmont Kea Lani.
Let me start by saying the Fairmont Kea Lani, is now my favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed in. That is saying a lot! D and I both truly loved it (but for different reasons… keep reading).
We checked in pretty late in the afternoon- as we had a full day of exploring Maui. They welcomed us with traditional lei’s and whisked our bags upstairs. We stood in the open air lobby, checked in and decided to get a drink at LUANA, a stunning lobby restaurant and bar before heading upstairs.
The Room
The Fairmont Kea Lani is Maui’s only all-suite and villa resort and the rooms are spectacular. Our private lanai (Hawaiian for deck/patio) overlooked the pool area and more importantly the ocean. The hotel rooms were also to die for. It was chic but also had beautiful Hawaiian touches. My favorite thing- our names on the soap in the bathroom! Fairmont has ALL the details taken care of. We felt like royalty.
Speaking of royalty- the hotel itself is gorgeous. I’m a sucker for all white anything and the beautiful white arches, curves, towers, and railings were just calling my name. The hotel is truly beautiful.
The Dining
Fairmont Kea Lani has several dining options you can choose from on the property. We tried several of the options and truly, you can’t go wrong. Our hands-down favorite was KŌ. “The expansive menu features island family recipes that have been passed down for generations – including Hawaiian, Chinese, Filipino, Portuguese, Korean, and Japanese favorites.” D said this dinner was a highlight of his trip to Maui. (that’s saying something!) My favorite dish was the “Ahi on the Rock.” You get AMAZING fresh tuna served raw and a 300 degree stone. You can cook your tuna to your liking right at the table. It was SOO good.
The Amenities
Every time we felt like we needed something at Kea Lani, the staff was quick to help satisfy our needs! They had water gear (think snorkels, kayaks, etc), a beautiful fitness facility, many dining options, many seating areas for relaxation and my favorite AN ADULT POOL. Now, there is nothing wrong with kids, but I was so looking forward to some relaxation. For those with kids, they also have a kids pool with a slide, that also had a swim up bar for parents. We rented a cabana by the pool. As part of your #cabanalife rental, you get a cooler filled with your choice of water, juices, club soda etc. They also came around with fresh fruit! It was the perfect way to relax by the pool and the ocean is only a 5 min walk away.
The Sunsets
My favorite part of my stay at the Fairmont was the beautiful sunsets. The hotel has a beautiful beach about 5 minutes walk from the pool. Every night, we strolled down to the sand to watch the sun fade into the horizon. Sunsets are one of my favorite things to see, photograph and experience. The fact that it was such a stunning setting made for the perfect sunset experience.
Needless to say, our stay the Fairmont Kea Lani will not be forgotten. It was the perfect and I mean perfect place to go for our first anniversary as husband and wife. Thank you SO much to the Fairmont staff for the amazing hospitality. We will be back very soon.

It looks like you had an amazing time! I still have not been to Maui, but everyone seems to say that it’s their favorite Hawaiian island. We stayed at the Fairmont Orchid on the Big Island and it was the most fantastic hotel. The Maui Fairmont looks spectacular as well!
