Oregon is becoming a wine capital of the world. I recently heard there are almost 700+ labels of wine coming out of Oregon. That is crazy! With so many options- how do you choose? I’m here to help.
I partnered with Toyota and went on a wine tasting adventure and I have some of my top choices from my day in the vines. There are so many places to choose, you really can’t go wrong!
Ghost Hill Cellars
I was first introduced to this vineyard by my dad and his girlfriend. The tasting room is off the beaten path, but the owners and most importantly the wines- fantastic. They have a cute tasting room overlooking the vineyard. It’s a beautiful spot and Dorinda the owner is usually pouring the wines. My Favorite Ghost Hill wine: The Rosé
Kramer Vineyards
This vineyard has both regular wines + sparkling wines (heart eyes emoji). The wine club that I belong too (more below) is a couple doors down from Kramer, which is how I discovered it. Their new tasting room in Carlton, OR is also inside an art gallery. The sparkling wines are hands down outstanding. My Favorite Kramer wine: Celebrate Muller-Thurgau
Purple Hands Winery
I first tried this wine at a media event but it was a show stopper. The wines pair perfectly with beautiful Pacific Northwest flavors. You can try these wines in their new tasting room as well. It’s right on hwy 99 in Dundee. These wines are beautiful and unique. A must try! My Favorite Purple Hands wine: The Latchkey
Seven of Hearts
I’ve been a member of Seven of Hearts for almost 4 years. I may be biased, but it is one of the best places in the valley. Byron the winemaker has ambition and drive to create an amazing product. The wines are spectacular. Every time I go wine tasting, a stop at Seven of Hearts is a must. 9 times out of 10, you’ll also get a chance to meet Bryon pouring in the tasting room. Go visit! My Favorite Seven of Hearts wine: The Tannat
It also helped to have a sweet ride for our day in the Willamette Valley. The new Toyota Camry is luxurious, smart, and a smooth ride. It really felt like a luxury vehicle at a price that is much more reasonable. I must say, while I test drove the car for a week- 2 people in my neighborhood stopped to ask about it- it’s a head-turner!!
Thank you to Toyota for a wonderful day exploring Oregon wine. It’s such a fun adventure to do any time of year. Next time you are looking for something new to try – head out west to the Willamette Valley.
