It’s officially 2022! I’m ready to (safely) get back into traveling and hopefully a year full of adventures. To start things off, we decided to have a little getaway to the Oregon Coast, specifically Astoria. One of my favorite coastal towns.
This time we were generously hosted by The Bowline Hotel in the heart of Astoria. No seriously, this location couldn’t be any more prime if you are visiting Astoria. D and I headed over to the coast on a Thursday to beat the weekend traffic. The hotel is located right on the waterfront in Astoria with incredible river views. It’s the perfect spot to relax and unwind. If you never left the hotel, you’d still have a wonderful getaway.
The Room at Bowline Hotel
The rooms at Bowline are exceptional. They really focused on intentional decor, focus on using local goods, and really made you feel completely comfortable. Every little detail was thought of. Our room had a beautiful king bed, soaking tub, fireplace, and beautiful river view. It was such a dreamy place to spend a couple of nights.
The Dining
I was surprised at how much the food impressed me at Bowline Hotel. They have a focus on fresh, local flavors and the service staff was beyond friendly. They were out of OJ for breakfast one morning and freshly squeezed some for us! You can also order room service via text which was a great option. The Knot Bar was also a great place to sit and have a night cap before turning in.
Astoria
Astoria is famously known as the home of the Goonies! But there is so much more to love about this little town. We love both Fort George and Buoy beer, so if you are a beer drinker, you’ll be a happy camper. We also tried 14th Street Cafe for breakfast which was delicious. The town is very walkable (we didn’t use our cars once) and strolled for miles with George in tow. If you are looking for more of an adventure, the stunning Cape Disappointment State Park is within driving distance and full of hiking, biking, and STUNNING sea views. There is a little something for everyone in Astoria.
Love,
Rachel
