So we all have those friends who always know the perfect gift. A gift with a hint of whimsy, class, and originality. I attempt to be that person- but alas…I am not. With Mother’s Day around the corner, I figured this weekend most would be out and about searching for something to express your love. I wanted to provide you with some good ideas- past my usual…flowers?
I found one of my friends who is without a doubt, creative and clever to aid in your Mother’s Day gift searches. Anne Kimbrel.
Anne is married to one of my closest friend’s brother Andy. She is one of the best hostesses I have ever encountered in this life. I remember the first time I met Anne, Claire and I had beat her to her apartment before she was off work. She came in late- but still offered us a seat- raced to the kitchen and emerged seconds later with bellinis and fresh fruit. (she is magical). So I begged for her to write for the blog, and she agreed and sent in this beautiful gift buying guide. So thank you again Anne, and look for more posts from Anne soon 🙂
“With Mother’s Day a mere month (ahh sorry I’m late) away I thought it would be
nice to gather up a short gift guide. Some I’ve given to my mother, others are
things I’ve been contemplating and some are just plain lovely – anyone would be
happy to receive them.

I hope you enjoy and Happy Mother’s Day.
A Memory Jar – This is a great gift for those
strapped for cash or for those who prefer something sentimental over monetary.
One year I found a vintage glass jar and wrote down 10 memories on pretty paper
and folded them in the jar. My brother also participated. It was a huge success
and my dad ended up wanting some too – so we followed suit for Father’s Day. We
sometimes add memories just for fun.

Tickets to do something together, a play, a
movie, pedicures, a cooking class – spending time with someone is always
special, just make sure you follow through.
