Let me start by saying, ANYTHING that involves noodles, broth, veggies and an egg will be something I’m totally into.
So Boke Bowl seemed to be right up my alley. Boke Bowl is located on Water Ave. by Omsi and attached to Bunk Bar (which if you haven’t tried is also outstanding).
The menu is quite interesting. You essentially chose your base: dry ramen noodles, rice, or soup. Then you choose your “protein”: hearty veggies, seafood, pork, duck (seasonal). All dishes come with seasonal veggies and then the ADD-ONS…(!!!!!) Options included: poached egg (duh.), fried chicken (get out!), grilled tofu, pork belly, cornmeal crusted oysters, and more.
Needless to say I was in heaven. They also serve some salads, steamed buns, and some desserts.
The menu isn’t too complex- and the customer service was really helpful in guiding you through the menu if you have questions.
I ordered- Seafood Miso Ramen, add poached egg
Clare ordered- Pork Ramen, add poached egg
Kristi ordered- Duck Ramen
and we got fried chicken steamed buns to share.
oh and 3 large Sapporos 🙂
Chopsticks for beginners.
Here is my view: Seafood Miso and beer!
