For some reason around the middle of September I got the urge to go to Chicago (where my mom and step dad reside). Felt like it would be nice to get out and enjoy the city with D. So we figured out his schedule and made it happen. Windy City here we come.
Since all of D’s flights from Alaska are red-eye’s I hopped on one Thursday night from PDX and headed east. Still half asleep I stumbled off the plane and into a certain someone’s arms 🙂
We hopped in a car and got home just in time to see Dave off to work Friday morning. Then we had a little cat nap by the fireplace while Mom cooked up some dinner.
After a nice night in- we took the train into the city to play tourist for the day since D had never been to Chicago.
We started at the Bean! Clearly someone ate their wheaties when they were a kid.
what a ham….
We strolled down Michigan Avenue window shopping and popped up the elevator at the John Hancock Building just in time to see the sunset over the city before heading home.
cute!

It was a great trip. D & I got to spend some quality time with my family and the city really showed off for us. Until next time Chi-town.
Love, adventures with my favorites xo
