I’m so excited to share this restaurant review with you! My good friend and blogger, Chloe from The Paper Airplane, joined me for an amazing dinner a couple weeks ago. It was one of those evenings where you think you’re just meeting a friend for dinner and it turns into this incredible, delicious and memorable evening.
Ataula is an amazing little Spanish restaurant tucked away in NW Portland. It’s charming, inviting and lively when you walk in. The staff is very knowledgeable. Our server took a lot of time explaining dishes and creating a great selection of items for us. The cuisine is Spanish tapas and larger paellas. Everything we ordered was fresh, local and unique ingredients to create our amazing dinner. Chef Jose Chesa came and greeted each table ensuring everyone was happy and full. I highly recommend trying this place. You won’t be disappointed. Ataula, we’ll be back soon.
We ordered:
House Sangria (a MUST)
Nuestras Bravas
Cojonudo
Paella Ataula
As you know, I am part of the Naked Juice Influencer program. This month they have asked all of the influencers to shed light on an important program called Drink Good Do Good. Nearly 24 million Americans live in food deserts and don’t have access to affordable, quality, fresh fruits and vegetables. Naked Juice packs a bounty of fruits and vegetables into every bottle of its juices and smoothies and believes everyone should be able to enjoy these foods every day.
For the third year, Naked Juice is partnering with Wholesome Wave – an organization that helps create affordable access to fresh, local and regional food to those in need – to provide fresh produce where there is none. In launching the third year of the Drink Good. Do Good. campaign, Naked Juice is continuing its commitment to Wholesome Wave by donating up to 500,000 pounds worth of fruits and vegetables.
I am lucky to live in a place where restaurants and grocery stores are serving fresh, local ingredients such as Ataula. I love how important fresh food is in the Portland community. Do your part to support local producers and also to give back to those who don’t have such opportunities.

Ataula has been on my list for so long, but they don't take reservations and every time I've been the wait has been crazy! Looks amazing. One day… one day. 🙂 Thanks for sharing your yummy dinner with us!
You can't beat a more perfect ladies night than paella and sangria, any day.
Wow, the sangria especially looks wonderful
Looks delish! And I so agree with you, we are very lucky to live in a food rich enviro here in the PNW.
Seriously, I have to agree about the sangria. If you say it's a must, I won't second-guess you.
I haven't been to Ataula is so long. I need to get back there!
Ooooo! Everything looks so good! I need to try that place!
When a regular day turns into a memorable time with friends – that's just the best! Thanks for the info on the Naked Juice – Wholesome Wave partnership, too: it sounds like a great program. Living in this place of natural bounty, it's good to remember how bless we are.
