Summer is over and Fall is here. Cold and rainy weather means I have time to sit down and tell you about some of my recent adventures. One most recent was a trip to Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands with my mom. Friday Harbor is no stranger to the blog. I’ve written about my last trip here.
I’ve been to the San Juans only a hand-full of times, but I have some favorite things to do while on the islands. Friday Harbor is my favorite town so far. To get to Friday Harbor, you have to take the ferry from Anacortes (90 miles north of Seattle). You can take your car over to the islands on the ferry, but I haven’t ever done that. I try to find lodging within walking distance from the ferry landing in Friday Harbor.
This time to the islands, my mom and I stayed at Cannery Inn. The room we stayed in had the most amazing view!! It was so peaceful to wake up each morning with the stunning view of the harbor. It’s walking distance from the downtown area with coffee shops, restaurants, and shopping.
Farmers Market
That view! Can you even believe it? I miss it seeing it again in these pictures. Another thing you can’t miss while on Friday Harbor is the farmers market. I’ll be honest I’ve been to some pretty amazing farmers markets, but this was out of a movie. Fresh oysters, steaming paella, banjo playing old men. It was amazing. Magical.

Oh my gosh, I feel like I can practically taste that paella! Looks so good. When we come back, can we take a trip there together? Either girls weekend or maybe a couples trip?! We can eat all the oysters… 😉

The San Juans are so special. I went to summer camp on a tiny island near Orcas for 5 summers, amazing! I haven’t been back much since though, probably should!
