My roommate Kristi is still semi- new to town ( just over a year) so there are still lots of places she hasn’t tried. She sent out an email to everyone wanting to go to Dove Vivi. The place is amazing so whoever was free was instantly on board to go. I had been before, but I do not turn down pizza (its against my religion).
Dove Vivi is located on SE Glisan, and its in a little strip mall-ish location. Sometimes hard to notice unless you are looking. Once you find it, you will remember exactly where to find this gem.
They specialize in corn-meal crusted pizzas. THEY ARE TO DIE FOR. I like to fancy myself as a pizza connoisseur. If you want a post about my favorite Portland pizzas- let me know.
The cornmeal definitely adds a texture and flavor that sets it apart from standard pizzas. It is so good though.
The menu is pretty good, they also have chef specials which are seasonal and very tasty.
We settled on corn add sausage, goat cheese, and veggie. I was obsessed with the corn add sausage which was our servers recommendation. (great pick) the girls (clare and kristi) liked the goat cheese. I would say veggie was the least favorite of the group. The veggies were cut a little too big, which made it awkward haha. We also had some red wine (standard). We picked the Alphonse and Clare had a beer.
Overall I would say it was a major success. If you love pizza get your butt over here! The place is small and doesn’t take reservations- so smaller parties are probably more ideal. But if you don’t mind a wait then it’s totally worth it.
